It describes a future journey by ultra-modern barge from Zeeland to France.<\/p>\n<p>The construction of the New Ship Lock in Terneuzen has attracted tens of thousands of curious Terneuzen residents, holidaymakers and countless official delegations in recent years. What a \u2018masterpiece\u2019 it sounded admiringly from their mouths. This book is not only about this new sea lock, but also about two other masterpieces of concrete, steel, water and political ingenuity: the cross-border merger of the ports of Vlissingen, Terneuzen and Ghent into North Sea Port and the construction of the 107-kilometre-long Canal Seine-Nord Europe in northern France. Between the Scheldt and the Seine, this will create a new, sustainable waterway for Dutch inland navigation. With Terneuzen as the gateway to Paris for large inland navigation.
