More than a year after we first informed you about the restoration of the memorial monument of Hieronymus van Tuyll van Serooskerke, lord of Stavenisse, we are now pleased to inform you that the restoration has begun.
Tim Kemperman, of Kemperman Restoration from Bergen op Zoom, started dismantling the marble tomb last December. Hopefully, it can be transported to restorer Snoep and Vermeer in Amsterdam in the second half of February. They will flush out the salt after which Tim can carry out the actual restoration.
